I spent the last 7 days in Honolulu - met Xtalk moderator Bob Schacht, swam and travelled by bus all over the Island - including the great Western surf at Makaha where we were told by a large man on the return journey that they kill white visitors there. We did sense a bit of impatience at our visit from a young surfer who wanted to claim our picnic table.
In a small bookstore at the Hilton village, I bought Kurt Vonnegut's last book - Man without a Country. For some reason, I felt he needed a good read and I wrote a 40 page review and response which I will transcribe on the next phase of my holiday - this time to Winnipeg.
